Beer Market

So I'm sitting at this aptly named place called the Beer Market. On first instinct you may think this is merely a cover for an even more appropriately named "beer fest". It is, however, a fine upstanding establishment that serves only the finest european brews and, more importantly, offers free wireless internet. You see my hotel supposedly offers free internet except that I require a network cable to connect my laptop to the network and well, I haven't got one. The kind lady at the front desk had no idea what such a thing was and she suggested that I "try plugging the other end into the wall". This is somewhat difficult when the "other end" is not removable from the wall. This same lovely lady also told me the location of the local staples business depot where I could procure such a cable. Only problem was she forgot to tell me it was roughly three kilometres or more down the road. Of course I only found this out after an hour or so of walking, map checking, etc.
I never found the staples.
I looked it up online just now.
Lovely Travelodge employees.
Reminds me of the $5 motel I once stayed at in Kelowna.
Although at this place the breakfast is free. Big points for that.
Oh, and I am still without my network cable.

So I got to Windsor last night. It seems like a nice town.... Honestly the more of this country I visit the more I am convinced that I already live in the best spot. A potential landlord I met today would tend to agree. I met my supervisor today. He seems like a really nice guy, and really laid back too. I asked him what time I should be at work on monday. His reply: "well, sometime after nine, I guess".

The flight in was somewhat rough. But I got here fine. Was disappointed to discover the Canucks lost last night.

Downtown is nice. Lots of bars. And lots of girlie joints. In fact, "Cheetah's" is right across the street right now. Apparently some of the employees just got off work....

My house search went well today. Most of the houses in the University area look fairly "weathered" to put it nicely. The two places I looked at both have grad students in them and seemed fine. I was hoping for more space, cleaner bathrooms and maybe newer carpet. But for the price I can't really complain. I also viewed a privately owned student residence building. It used to be a nursing home. You can definitely tell. I will probably take one of the other rooms I saw today. Although I'm in no hurry as my hotel reservation is paid for through monday.

The Cheetah's van just pulled up. Apparently they are the "bachelor party headquarters". Cheetah print paint job. Nice touch.
